Medical Assistance Program

The Association has organized the donation of medical supplies to the Valdai Hospital by local physicians and the Saint Thomas More Hospital.  Since 1993 the Association has delivered thousands of dollars in medicines to Valdai.

MEDICINE MEN

Chuck Walser (second from the left) leaves for Valdai, Russia, this weekend and will take several boxes of medical supplies to Canon City’s sister city. The medical supplies were collected and donated by St.Thomas More Hospital and the Fremont County Medical Society.

Pictured with some of the supplies are Bill Foster (left), CEO of Benedictine Health Centers, Walser, vice president of the Canon City Russian Sister City Association, Dr. Gary Mohr, president of the medical society and Vaughn McClain (right), president of the Sister City Association.

McClain and three members of the official delegation will travel to Valdai in August to take more medical supplies.

We are happy that temporary hardships we are experiencing find response in your hearts. This promotes and brings us more closely together and breaks down the wall of mistrust which for a long time separated us. We very much appreciated your activities directed toward financial help for the people of Valdai. This has the broad support of all our people and particularly from those suffering from diseases.

We heartily thank you and hope that our friendship will be strengthened and our relationship and collaboration will become stronger and more diverse for the benefit of the people both Valdai and Canon City.
